Program Descriptions The following are brief descriptions of each of Cornerstone’s learning programs for preschoolers:
Three-Year Old morning Class
This class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 21/2-hour sessions. The morning class is 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. The focus of this class is to work on socialization skills and learning about the world around us; people, places and things that directly affect them. Emphasis is also placed on practicing “school skills” such as listening, following directions, and sharing. Tuition is $90 per month or $810 for the year.
Three/Four-Year Old Afternoon Class
This class meets on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for 21/2-hour sessions. The afternoon class is 12:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.
The focus of this class is to continue working on socialization skills and learning about the world around us; people, places and things
That directly affects them. It will work on school readiness skills and will further challenge the child intellectually. Tuition is $110 per month or $990 for the year.
Three & Three/Four-Year Old Enrichment Day
This program is an option for your 3& 4 year old to experience a third day of learning with an emphasis on art, science, music, and math fun! This class explores weekly themes with more hands on experiments, more in depth review and more detailed crafts. It builds on the learning level of three and four year olds, but will not affect their regular Tuesday/ Thursday or Monday, Tuesday, Thursday classes. It meets on Wednesday morning at 8:45 to 11:15 am and afternoons at 12:15 to 2:45pm. Tuition is an additional $30.00 per month.
Pre-K –Morning And Afternoon Classes
This class meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 8:45-11:15 a.m. and 12:30-3:00p.m. This class is only for children that are 4 turning 5 years old and that make the August 1Kindergarten cut-off date for the following school year. This class will work on socialization skills, school readiness skills, with the main focus on Kindergarten readiness. This class will work on lessons and projects at a slightly faster pace which involves a longer attention span. Tuition is $115 per month or $1035 for the year.
Lunch Bunch
This program gives a child an opportunity to further their social and large motor skills by giving them an extra hour to have lunch and gym time with their school friends! They will enjoy some unstructured but supervised time to eat and play, while you have an extra hour of time to get some much needed things done around town or around the house! The lunch bunch is from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for the Pre-K and 11:15 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for the three/four year olds and Tuesday, Thursday for the three year olds. Simply pack a lunch for your child and bring it to school! The morning class will stay an extra hour after the regular school day and the afternoon class comes an extra hour before the regular school day. This program is an additional $50 per month for four year olds and $35 per month for three year olds.
Music and Movement
This program also offers a fifth day option for any four-year old enrolled in the 4’s and Pre-K program. This class is offered on Tuesday mornings for 2 ½ hours. It is from 8:45 a.m.-11:15 a.m. Children will experience music by learning different instruments, playing different instruments, moving to music, hearing rhythm in songs, hearing different composers, learning basic notes and more. Studies have shown music reduces children’s stress, boosts their self esteem and improves their mathematical abilities. The tuition for this program is an additional $50.00 per month.
Four-Year old/Pre-K Enrichment Class
This program offers a fourth day option for any four-year old enrolled in the 4’s program. This class is offered on Thursday mornings for 2-1/2 hours. It is from 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. The program is geared to offer learning activities which are an extension of the four-year old program and gives the child a rich learning environment in art, science, math, language arts, social studies, and they even get to go on field trips!!!! The tuition for this program is an additional $55 per month.
